A Great Table Lamp – Because Every Room Needs One
Just about every room in your home has one. They not only serve a major function in the room, but they can also tie your room décor together. You can find them in many shapes, designs, colors and can be relatively inexpensive or cost an arm and a leg. What am I referring to? A table lamp.
As I mentioned, a table lamp clearly serves a major function in any room by providing light. Whether it is the primary source of light, or additional light in a room, it is an important functional piece of furniture. A table lamp can also be an elegant piece of décor in a room that serves as a focal point. You can build your room décor around a particular style of the lamp, or you can use it as a finishing touch to a section of the room.
I have a huge appreciation for the table lamp. I know that may sound a bit odd, but that one piece could make or break a room. If you have an obscure or perhaps even ugly table lamp, it is going to be the first thing people notice. If you have an elegant, sophisticated lamp it will also be the first thing people notice, but in a positive way. The table lamp can really enhance a rooms appearance. For example, our living room has two couches that make an L shape and right were the two couches meet we have a simple little coffee table with a very cute, yet simple table lamp. Out of all the things in my living room, my table lamp is what gets the most compliments. If I move the table lamp, that portion of the room seems so bland and boring, not to mention a bit dark.
So the next time you want to spruce up the appearance of a room in your home consider updating your table lamp. Pair it with a few other pieces of accent furniture and you can really create something new and unique without having to do a complete remodel of your room. I think people often times over look the decorative purpose of a lamp and see it as just a light in the corner, when it can easily be both.
